Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said that the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will be the planning authority for future government housing schemes in Mumbai and nearby metropolitan areas.Instructed that the slum rehabilitation authority will be given a dedicated police team.Fadnavis has ordered to review the pending proposals of the committee comprising the urban and revenue secretaries.

Officials said the discussions were discussed at the discussion meeting of the new housing society, new housing institute, on SRA, Development Control Regulations, MHADA Redevelopment, Prime Minister Housing Scheme and Public Private Participative Schemes.

Officials said that the rehabilitation of 29,225 flat under SRA will be completed by March 2019.Fadnavis has directed that the Environmental Protection Service will bring the Right to Information ActHome Minister Prakash Mehta, State Minister Ravindra Waikar and HRA Officer SRA, MHADA were also present. A statement from the Chief Minister's Office was issued.
